Reaching our Schools – Maymont Preschool Center

Children spend an average of 6 hours in school each day, averaging more time around educators and school personnel than their parents/caregivers. Now more than ever, our educators are expected to provide more than just educational supports to our children. Our children arrive to school with a myriad of adversities that can prevent them from being mentally and physically prepared to perform to standardized levels. Creating school environments that practice more trauma informed principles can help our children feel physically and emotionally safe.
